Indiana Rehabilitation Association Annual Conference Call for Papers & Posters
The Indiana Rehabilitation Association will hold its annual conference on December 20, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis.
This year’s conference will include two types of exciting informational sessions and your participation is invited. Those interested in presenting should submit a proposal and indicate whether they would like their presentation to be considered only for a poster session or also considered for the keynote presentation. Presenters will be selected for either a one hour keynote session or a poster session.
What is a keynote session? The keynote session will consist of a lecture-style presentation with all conference attendees participating. Questions from attendees will be held to the end.
What is a poster session? Attendees will have 2 hours to visit poster sessions in an informal setting. Presenters will be asked to summarize their presentation/research on a standard poster board (36”x48”) and present it to participants as they visit the area. Presenters should be prepared to present their information multiple times as attendees ‘browse’ the various posters. This format encourages a high level of participation from attendees in the form of questions and answers.
What topics will be considered? The Indiana Rehabilitation Association is a diverse organization whose members are interested in many facets of the rehabilitation process and issues related to disability. Possible topics might include, but should not be limited to:
- employment issues related to disability - recreational and social issues related to disability - legal and/or political issues related to disability - funding of disability-related services - professional development of service providers - organizational issues facing disability service providers - trends in disability treatment options - other issues related to disability and the rehabilitation process
Proposals should include the following information: 1. Title of presentation 2. Contact information: name, affiliation, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail for each presenter 3. Indicate whether you’re applying for keynote only, poster only, or will accept presenting in either format. 4.
